Our top grade of organic matcha is made from the first springtime harvest of tencha, savored for its umami sweetness, creamy taste and enlivening energy. Prepare Teahouse Matcha in the traditional, ceremonial manner called Cha No Yu using a tea bowl and a bamboo tea whisk. The traditional cultivation of tencha requires shading the tea garden for 3-4 weeks prior to harvest. This elevates chlorophyll and enhances L-theanine and other stimulating amino acids responsible for matcha's unique bounty of energy.

Rishi says this tea has high caffeine on their scale from 0 to 100 based on a 8oz cup of tea made with suggested steeping method relevant to the tea type. But they don't give an exact amount and their range bar has width set by screen size, so it means absolutely nothing. See the image where we try to figure out what "High" caffeine and their scale indicator actually means. So adjusting to package listed serving size, it really has 20 to 30 mg of caffeine per serving. Adding further annoyance, their "Traditional Preparation" instructions says to start with "Sift 1 tsp (1.5g) into a tea bowl." But their Nutrition Facts label says that 1 tsp is 2g. So all of their listed nutrition numbers and information details are likely off by a significant amount.
